We're back after a lovely day - that journey doesn't get any shorter though First stop D's to drop the dogs off with grandma Second stop 100 miles up (mostly) the M4 to Egham to pick up Becks and Harry from their dad's, third stop Staines to pick up Chris, then up the M25 and M1 to Luton Then a wonderful roast lunch, much jollity over a daft quiz game, some rugby on the telly then the journey again all in reverse order
Glad you had a lovely day Kaz. That sounds like a similar distance between where we are and John's Mom in South Wales. It's exhausting to do it all in a day, you'll be ready for your bed tonight!
We've had a lovely evening. My Mom called earlier to see if we fancied going around and ordering a Chinese tonight seeing as we hadn't had a meal together over the holidays so we picked up a menu on the way and were just choosing a variety of dishes when my sister phoned to say she and Roger were going to call in so we ordered plenty for 8 of us and had a really nice time
Jo we really were, we were asleep not long after I posted Glad you had such a nice time too
It is a heck of a trek in one day, but we wanted to see them all, and doing it in one day is the only way really - my sister has a 4 bed house but doesn't have the room to put us all up and a hotel would be terribly expensive for us all, this will be a tight month on the back of Christmas, and part of B's fees due again on Feb 1st! They came to us last Christmas so it was our turn really Good news though for Easter - they are coming to us for a couple of days and staying in the Ibis round the corner! We're going to do the touristy thing with them and show them the Cotswolds
I know my sister would like to retire over here in the West Country somewhere, which would be nice......Although I'd like to retire abroad or by the sea somewhere ideally, I'd gladly stay over this way if it meant seeing a lot more of her
