Oh, Ally. What a horrible experience.

So glad you eventually landed OK.

Welcome to England.

Don't forget, you are always welcome here at Solihull - I think you have our phone number.

But please bring better weather with you next time.

Ally, they showed a plane trying to land at Birmingham airport and then aborting on the 06:30 local news tonight ...... I thought they said that it diverted elsewhere, but it might have been yours .... :o

The only time I've flown to the USA (nearly 40 years ago now), we went in a BA Jumbo and they showed "The Great Waldo Pepper" as the inflight movie, starring Robert Redford ...... it was all about stunt flying!

Really good news to hear that you landed safely ALE, it must have been one hell of a landing..... even with lots of hand-holding. Image :)

I quite like flight turbulence, as well, but sometimes.......and for those who are not confident flyers it must be frightening.

Glad you are back safe and sound.

The Birmingham Mail website has footage too. Earlier they had film of what looked like a smaller commuter plane trying to land and also an Emirates one, and I think it said that one was diverted.

Ossie many years ago I was on a coach crossing the lower reaches of the Pyrennees and some wag decided to show us the movie The Big Bus, a comedy about a coach journey where at one point they are hanging over a mountainside! :? :(
