It depends upon how I feel......

I tend to open my door to callers with my mobile pressed to my ear pretending to be in a deep and meaningful conversation.....

If they phone at home I have been known to excuse myself to make a coffee and forget to pick up again.

Sometimes, though, I just say "No" and put the phone down.

Do I feel guilty? Not for a second. I didn't ask them to call.

However, if I have an appointment I expect it to be met, and God help those who fail to turn up.

It depends on the mood I'm in, and how the darlings are behaving as to how I deal with these interruptions.

Yonks ago I hard one of the first nz calls of "mam, I'm calling about your computer fault" which you had all been receiving already so I knew all about it. I strung him along, and being in IT was able to baffle him. In the end he asked me for a job.

I got very rude after being in India. But I'm a lot more chilled out now in our new house. I've only had to close the door in one persons face who just would not accept no for an answer.
