The original plan was that we’d get a sleep before George arrived but as usual in our house it didn’t happen.
My Dad phoned, he’d been to the GP and had a suspected DVT so the GP had called an ambulance and he’d gone home to wait for it, three hours later he was still waiting. We went to sit with him, I messaged my sister to say that we were there and he was fine but couldn’t wait indefinitely as we had to get back, she was aware anyway that George was arriving.
An ambulance finally turned up at around 9pm and they arranged which hospital to take him to when John said that he’d pop over with anything that he needed if he was to stay in. Him saying that changed everything because they then decided that if John could go later then maybe it’d be better if he took him there and then. I told my sister and the reply was “what a waste of everyone’s time, good old John”.
Long story slightly shorter, it probably is a DVT. He had an injection and has to return today for an emergency scan, he’ll be called at some point with a time.
‘Good old John’ got home at 3.30am and managed about an hour’s sleep before work.
I called my sister this morning and it’s such a huge inconvenience for her to take him for this scan. It takes them an hour to get to him so she’s told him that he’ll have to tell the hospital that he has no transport and will need some arranging by them, but if they can’t then they’ll come over but can’t guarantee a time that’ll work with any appointment he’s given. Joe’s not in work but he’s gone with Jade as she has an interview and as a new driver she worries about driving to unfamiliar places so Joe booked the day off to go with her so that she’s not stressed when she’s interviewed.
