Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 08 Apr 2025, 06:14

Good morning.

Sunny and forecast 26°. 8-)

Conor's coming over this morning for the day and is staying the night. :D
He's bringing steaks and cooking dinner. :D

He's offered to teach me how to play chess. I've resisted all his previous attempts so good luck this time Conor.

Have a great day.

Hello you two and everyone - good morning

I've never managed to get the hang of chess Ally; or rather - I know how the pieces are allowed to move and that the idea is to checkmate the king; but I never figured out how to work out a strategy to win and would just move whatever piece I could
Take it easy today Jan; and Grumpy also.

A very nippy start to the day today - there was a very thin layer of ice on the bird bath this morning. Day times are warming up but the nights are still really nippy and not getting much above 3 or 4 degrees. Allotment day for me today. I've managed to get my garden sorted as much as I can so it's mainly just upkeep for the rest of the year. But I need to do quite a bit at the allotment still before I start work again and won't have that much time; so hoping to spend quite a bit of time there over the next six days.

Have a lovely day all x

Good morning everybody.

It was only 14C when I got up. But another sunny day with a blue sky so it should get warmer.

Am going to Lidle this morning. Taking my friend. Has given her car to her daughter. Will still keep her riving licence as she may need it as proof od identity.

Then this afternoon will do some more gardening. Just one corner at the back to weed and the edge of the lawn totrim.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all, another lovely day although there was a heavy dew last night as the sheets on the line overnight were slightly damper than when I put them out last night. Edward has gone to play golf and I have various stuff to do around the house. Kellie will be here this afternoon as we won’t be here on Thursday - Michael has a match at 6.30 so we’ll go to that and bring Kellie with us to meet up with her Mum there.

Yesterday turned out unexpectedly different - when we went to set up my new iPad we found that the cable supplied didn’t fit anything we had and we couldn’t charge it. So off we went to get one, the shop we went to didn’t have any iPad covers so Edward suggested we go to collect my new glasses as there is a shop in the same centre selling phone and iPad covers. The shop actually didn’t have a case to fit the iPad but that’s fine, I ordered a nice one online which will be delivered tomorrow. Then when we went to collect my glasses, it turned out that Edward’s new glasses had come in after I got the phone call about mine, so that worked well as we thought they would probably be in today or tomorrow and we saved a journey.

Good morning everyone.

Another blue sky day to look forward to hereabouts, but we had a slight air frost early on due to those same blue skies.

I have been to pick up my repaired driving glasses. I sat on them when in a rush and broke one of the lenses. Fortunately it was the one on the right - my blind eye - so it only needed a plain lens.

Not much else to do except sort out a stack of paperwork such as bank statements, insurance forms (glasses) and hospital / GP appointments then it will be just a slow Tuesday.

Enjoy whatever it is you intend to do. xx

Good morning.
Blue skies now but it ws foggy earlier. All burned off now though.
MrsC ha gone for her blood pressure taking, we may go to Jim's to move some more stuff out.
You'd never think you could get so uch stuff in a one bedroom bungalow.
Hope Grumpy and Saundra are improving.
Have a good day all.

Afternoon everyone :)

Another sunny day here. Big traffic issues here in Gloucester, since a water main burst at the weekend, so we ventured out early hoping to avoid the worst. Tesco was almost empty, so obviously everyone else was staying in to avoid the traffic  We did go to the Quays afterwards, for brunch, but went the longer way round. No D today, as she had an appointment, so we came straight home and I've cleared the ironing.

Love to all xxx

Afternoon all, it’s been a lovely sunny day.

I went into Stafford this morning, we’ve got loads of birthdays in the next month so I wanted to take a chance to get a few presents and cards.

We’re eagerly watching a tracker showing where our puppy is, they left Romania this morning, have made excellent progress and are currently taking a short break on the outskirts of Vienna. The transport people have started a group chat with updates too and they shared a video earlier, our George had a very waggy tail when he was shown. We’re not sure yet exactly when he’ll arrive but I’d hazard a guess at late tomorrow. I’m going to pop out to Tesco later, they can take bags of food back for the Romanian rescues so I want to get some.

Have a lovely evening all :)
