Unpacked the cases and had a shower, and then it was a case of trying to keep going for as long as possible. Always find I get my body clock back to normal if I ignore how long I've been up and just revert to 'proper' time. Finally gave up around 9pm, took more painkillers and thank goodness managed to sleep through till 10am.
The hotel was lovely, our room was huge, don't think we've ever seen such a large bed, they're usually superking size, but this one was so big E joked we could be in separate countries
We had a large whirlpool bath, a great idea, but of course we couldn't actually get in it, luckily there was also a huge walk in shower, great for us. The balcony was big enough for chairs and a bistro size table. All the rooms are sea facing, fantastic to wake up to every day. Puerto Vallarta is quite stunning, surrounded on three sides by the Sierra Madre mountains, great views wherever you look.Being all inclusive means everything is laid on for you, the staff are absolutely wonderful, can't do enough for you, but not OTT or pushy. The choice of restaurants is great, most days we'd go down for a brekkie at the buffet, the usual hotel spread with an egg station where you could have them cooked anyway you wanted. The extra is champagne with or without juice. I normally love it, but because of the diabetes was very good and decided I'd rather wait till dinner before having a drink. Meant I could also treat myself to a cocktail each evening
Lunch was served in three of the restaurants, we usually stuck to the buffet, gave me a bigger choice. Evenings were time to dress up a bit, nothing too fancy, just smarter than beachwear. I took 4 long summer dresses and a pair of floaty palazzo type trousers with a couple of nice tops so I could mix and match over the 14 nights. We had 5 'posh' restaurants to choose from French, Seafood, Italian, Japanese and Mexican plus 3 casual restaurants so lots of choice. Afterwards we would sit in the lounge where there was always live music and have a cocktail. Well E went for the straight stuff, Appletons rum or brandy, I was more than happy to have a Black Russian (Kalhua and vodka) very Mexican 
The weather was brilliant, very hot, but there's plenty of shade wherever you want it so not a problem. Must admit that's one of the best things, all that sunshine never fails to cheer me up. We did have rain one of the days, very unusual at this time of year, but still lovely and warm. We were happy to spend the day in the lounge which is covered, but completely open along the front so again wonderful views of the sea. They did lay on plenty of entertainment, but we were just happy to sit and be lazy. The day we took a taxi to the Malecon was definitely a highlight, Sunday is very much a family day over there, it was lovely to see all the families out enjoying their day off work.
Of course nothing is ever absolutely perfect, we would have loved to do a couple of organised excursions to see more of the area, but we knew it wasn't going to happen this time round, shame but there you go, we certainly didn't let it spoil being away. Getting on/off the sun loungers was a trial, I knew it would be as they are so low, but I managed and didn't have to take too many pain killers. Also I did miss being able to get into the sea, it was too rough most of the two weeks, but just listening to the waves was lovely. There were some really loud Canadians the first week, bit surprised as it's usually the Americans!! We did meet some lovely peeps, one American couple from Florida were especially nice and ordered a bottle of champagne to be delivered to our room their last day saying how much they enjoyed meeting us. They also gave us their e-mail and said they'd like to stay in touch.
Overall the break has been really good for us. Two weeks was long enough for this type of holiday, but we both felt it gave us back our normality, something that's been lacking the last 18 months or so. It was so nice to do the dressing up and going out to dinner thing, it's been ages since we last did that.
The house looks like a Chinese laundry right now, not going to try and get it all done today, will spread it over this coming week. No jelly and blancmange today Saundra, except for the washing, having a very lazy day.
