Why do so many parents allow their children to take their smartphones, etc., to bed,
when, according to recent research, the majority of youngsters make far to much use
of them when they should be sleeping. Surely parents must realise the adverse effects
of this practice.

Depends what you mean by children really.
By the time they're 14 or 15 they wouldn't want to leave them downstairs, any more than I'd have wanted my parents to read my diary ;)
I used to read in bed, long after I was supposed to be asleep, yes literally by torchlight :)

Same here Di, reading with a torch under the covers whilst listening to Radio Luxembourg with one of those single ear buds that used to come with a small transistor in my ear ;)

Why is it that, when you take two items out of the freezer, you can't get anything else in????

My freezer compartment needs defrosting despite what it says on the label, this was done the other week.

Things are usually squeezed in wherever a place can be found. So everything gets taken out and the defrosting is carried out then it all goes back nice and neat - stacked this way, turned that way...... Could I as hell get everything back!

Why are sardines so large nowadays?
Compared with what they were like years ago, they are about three times bigger.
I opened a tin today and there was only six large ones. When I was younger there
would have been at least a dozen, packed in like.......sardines. Why the change?

Why are the police spending time investigating alleged sexual misconduct by
Edward Heath, the former PM, who died about sixteen years ago? What's the point?
How far back are they going? They'll be reading history books soon.
