Ear piercing trauma

When my niece had hers done a few months back, my SIL spoke to the people before hand and they'd arranged to have two people on stand by and on the count of three have both ears done at the same time - best way I think....

As for the ice cube and needle thing - yup; helped with a few of those in my younger days

Di my wedding ring finger swells sometimes - I try to take my rings off when I'm at home - I have a special little cat ornament where the rings rest on the outstretched tail, that my MIL bought me for the purpose, and I keep on the kitchen windowsill.......

my grandaughter had her ears done last year she was 10 and two assistance did it
at the same time

i had mine done when i was about 19 i think
went to a smart jewlers in town
then had to use TCP and vasaline
had loads of trouble with left ear
my aunt had to take them out for me

never wear any earings now tho

She is fine this morning. I picked them up from my mums and she was telling me how she had bathed it twice and that it didn't hurt at all. She has clipped her hair back behind her ear so that everyone can see it - and pulled the hair over the other ear so you can't see that one!

She had told my mum last night that she wants to go back and get the other one done and she told me the same this morning. I said that her dad was hoping to take her on Thursday or Friday as the sooner she got it done, the better it would be for changing them both at the same time.

She was funny - she said that she really wants to have the other one done but she was a bit unsure as she can't really remember how much it would hurt.

I have 2 sets, though I've only worn 1 set for awhile now. I wonder if the other set is still open?
First set was done at a chemist with a piercing gun. Boom boom. Barely felt a thing. I asked how to care for them and was told to turn them twice a day, but don't bother with any solution etc, it only slowed healing down. If I had a problem, then come back. Never bad a problem.

Second set, same story, only I was given a solution to use, and ouch! I only used it a couple of times.


Had my belly button done in Sydney, that too never hurt, but then I have no sensation there due to an op a a toddler. Ana in I was given nothing. That one got an infection, but a bi of savlon cream sorted that out. Unfortunately that one survived pregnancy, but not labour and fell out 3 days later. I kind of miss it, so might get it redone one day, but I'm hoping my belly button might unstretch first. I really don't like seeing all the stitches around it, but I think I'm stuck with how it is.

Hubby has 1 as well. Every now and then I throw one of mine in it, much to the kids amazement.



Hope she's brave enough to carry on with it.
