Good Morning Wednesday

Postby JanB » 18 Jun 2025, 07:05

Morning everyone

Warm already and a slightly cooler day at 37C.

Just having a quick coffee, then out to do the watering, Grumpy is going to spend an hour on the pool, finish off vacuuming. Nelson came up yesterday, with a new gauge and more salt.

When we're in Ourique later, we'll pop in and pay him. Also do the supermarkets and collect my back plates from the chemist.

Quick pit stop for a coffee and gossip, then back for breakfast.

Will be on line for a funeral this morning. A very good friend, so young too.

Salad for dinner, although I'll marinade some chicken breasts for tomorrows.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning.
Cloudy and warm.
We appear to have either bees or wasps setting up home with us. So we have a man coming out to have look.
Power washed some of the patio yesterday eventually. Every time we turned the water on part of the setup would fall off. The hosepipe at the tap, the pipe going into the Karcher, everything. Laurel and Hardy wasn't in it.
41c would finish me, I think.
Have a good day everyone.

Hello everyone, good morning

Jan, sorry about your friend :-(
Ally, pool sounds the only sensible place to be in that heat
Cruiser, hope the AGM went well.
Crommers, where are the bees / wasps? Hopefully it's bees and the person coming will arrange for them to be collected.

A wfh day for me, so sitting at the computer with the doors open and enjoying the weather. Off to do the usual Sainsbury's run in a bit, but that's about it for me. I'll need to some watering at some point; I usually prefer doing it first thing but didn't get a chance today.

Have a lovely day all x

I'll be watching too Jan, so very sad.

Planning a trip to the little Tesco for bananas and salad to go with the fresh salmon waiting to be poached for dinner tonight. Will see how I feel when we get back, it will either be sitting in the garden with my kindle or if I feel up to it I might give the driveway a good soaking with Wet and Forget.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Ria there is a little hole in the brickwork where the overflow from our bath used to come out. They are in there.

Morning all, another hot one.

Early walk for George, he was unnerved by two big barking German Shepherd Dogs and the loud shouty woman who was walking them. I think it was the woman who unnerved him more, he’s not usually phased by big dogs and is always eager to see his friend Sabre who is an enormous GSD.
Anyway, once they were out of sight (although not quite out of earshot) he refused to move, he had to be bribed with treats and once he started moving we raced home, he was stopping for nothing.

Not much planned today, I’ll walk again shortly while leaving George at home to get him used to being home alone. Not sure what time John will be home, he’s gone to Nissan at Sunderland for a site visit. His busy season is starting, he’s got to work Saturday this week as well as he has to visit BMW at Oxford.
Joe’s at Jade’s tonight, we’ve been texting back and forwards all morning since the football fixtures were released.

Crommers that made me laugh. Sounds like you were in another fine mess :P

Sorry to hear about your friend Jan and Jen x

Have a good day all :D

Afternoon all, late on parade today. I was at the hospital for 10.30 but the clinic was very busy. I didn’t mind waiting, I had brought my book and had a good read. I was seen around11.40 then had to go and get something to drink and walk around for half an hour to make sure all was well. Home now, and Edward had made some nice orange muffins. It is a lovely day, I love this time of year when it hardly gets dark at night. Jen and Jan, sorry about your friend, was it someone from Femail?

Afternoon everyone :)

Ally, the pool day sounds great ;) xx

Jan, I'm sorry about your friend :( xx

Hope the meeting went well Cruiser xx

Oh yikes, Crommers! :? xx

Nice day for working from home Ria :D xx

Definitely salad weather Jen xx

Ah it does sound as though the shouting worried George, Jo. Bless.him, he's still very young :) xx

Glad your appointment went ok Osc :) xx

It's another warm day here :) We decided to drop in on B at the visitor hut on Robinswood Hill where she works :) She's asked us several times, so we decided to surprise her :D It's actually a rather snazzy "hut", an all wood and glass building with a veranda and cafe attached. So M and I took Daisy for a shady walk up the hill, then came back down in time to meet B for her lunchbreak. We had a toastie, sitting on the veranda, and Daisy had a doggy ice cream  We'll definitely do it again, the views up there are amazing, right across the city to the Cathedral 8-)

Love to all :) xx
