Be nice Saundra, but I would have to go alone and not sure I fancy that  plus cant see pubs round here screening the Ipswich Norwich match anyway

At least with the motor racing we do get the highlights so unlike the football we dont miss it all together

Local Asda had the basic Now box for £10 and the smart box for £20, much cheaper than direct from Now.

The smart box changes a bog standard TV into a 'smart' one and gets all terrestrial TV, inc Freeview, via an aerial. Day passes are available on both.

Gal, I am not sure that TalkTalk is the problem, as such, unless you are at the exteme end of distance from the exchange. My TT package is the standard 17MB one. My TT smart box is connected to the internet via my router modem over the household mains using connector plugs. I can stream stuff from BBC, All4, Catch Up etc without problems providing that I am doing nothing else on the internet. That can also mean turning off the Wi-Fi of other devices such as laptops, phones, consoles and tablets as even on 'idle' they are still using bandwidth.

Try Fire and the Kodi app with everything else turned off and see what happens.

Well after all that, when Tim stopped being busy I spoke to him and apparently we already have Apple TV. So he has purchased a Now TV day pass and I am all set.

Told you I was hopeless

Oddly enough I had downloaded the app Showbox to my Kindle Fire. Last night I watched Sully, the film about the guy who landed the plane on the Hudson, right through on my Fire through the Showbox app.

However I've been told by family that when they are visiting, they find our internet much slower than usual, so maybe it is me? I've had the same modem since I got BB in 2005!

My other problem is that when John installed the extra stuff on the Fire Stick, he used his own amazon login details, so nothing on the stick is linked to my account :?

Hmmmm..... a 12 year old router/modem. :o

Google Broadband Speed Test. Choose a couple of the UK offerings and carry out some tests. Do these a few times on different days and at different times of the day, but always do them the same times to get an average. Compare them with TalkTalk's own test. Keep a copy of the tests and if they are low make TT aware of them and try demanding a new router.

My TT broadband is the standard 17MB package and I get between 14.5 to 16 during most days/times. This is fine and acceptable. If you are getting 12 to 14 the limit is being pushed and is not really acceptable. Anything below 10 and I would have a foghorn down their ears!

Ipswich have just scored. 8-)
