We have plenty of disused military bases that could house them, feed them and give them access to medical and interpretationh services, but why shoulod we?
They came here by illegal means and that makes them illegal immigrants so send them back. If they really are genuine refugees / asylum seekers, and some will be, then there are official routes open to them to get here.

100%
I would imagine that the cancelled contract isn't really cancelled, it just won't be renewed when it runs out; another hotel firm could step in.

Apparently they are going to use the same firm who produced the Bibby Stockholm.

So, it is little more than window dressing - a contract and management change.
Serco, Mears and CTM (Bibby) will not have the staff to run these 51 hotels so it will be the same people as now on the shop floor doing the day-to-day work. There might be a few new supervisors taken on but that will be about it.
