And so we wait......

Lots of phone calls going on this morning, about signing the promissary, not signing the promissary.

So we went to see Carla and apparently, it's our buyers who have a hiccup in their sale. But she's now on the case (think mini rottweiler   ) and we hope to have some news soon.

Looks likely that the final deed for our house will be signed no later than 20 December, which much later than we all thought, but we can still get in before Christmas. But she's hoping for earlier than that.

She thinks that as soon as the promissary contract is signed, we'll do the final deed a week later :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

And now we have to get yet another form completed, a Portuguese law does not allow us to jointly own the house    because we're English :o   :o   and got married in England.

Bluddy red tape

Yet this one is in both our names - so we're now completely confused.

We had to go to Finances earlier, with Carla, to get another form, which only cost 8 euros something, but without it, you can't sell your house.

Blasted nightmare, this is.

And Tom is still pushing for us to pay the deposit - now.

That was 12 years ago Saundra - no doubt the law has changed about a zillion times since then

This country loves it's red tape, officialdom, stamping various papers, charging you a few euros here, another few there, oh and stickers, with a stamp, to say you've paid
