Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 24 Jul 2025, 06:29

Good morning.

Had a lovely journey yesterday up to Scotland.
Definitely travelling first class again!

Stayed over last night at my friend Michelle's. :D

This morning I'm going for a walk.

Checking into the airbnb at 2pm.

My cousin is picking me up at 6 o'clock and we're going to Edinburgh airport to pick my sister up.
I can't wait to see her! :cute:

Have a great day.

Morning everyone

Sunny, but with a few clouds and a nifty breeze. Warming up to 36C later.

Done the watering, been ant hunting, trying to find out where they-re coming in, so have sprayed a few areas. The house stinks now

Cleaning to be done this morning and I have a few plants I-m going to take cuttings from.

Been chatting with our friend this morning, who came out of hospital yesterday. Considering he was at death-s door / literally / less than two weeks ago, he has made an astonishing recovery. A long way to go yet though.

Will be attempting a caeser salad for dinner, my version, anyway.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you-re doing xx

Crommers, my condolences to you and Mrs C xx

Hello you three and everyone, good morning

Ally have just the best time with your sister - looking forward to hearing all about the shenanigans you'll be getting up to :-D
Jan, excellent news re your friend and fingers crossed for an ongoing and comfortable recovery as possible.
Cruiser, good luck with the electrician - hope he gets everything done.
Crommers, condolences from me also :-(

Well day 2 of 3 of my reduced hours work day. Monday and Tuesday I was told I had to take the day off, and then Wed - Friday this week I'll be working 9am - 2.30pm only (usual hours are to 6pm); and then next week I can do the full day if I feel up to it, but have the permission to log off earlier if needed. I've been absolutely spoilt with flowers and am surrounded by four huge beautiful bouquets, lovely bursts of colour in the house!

I'l have a chilled afternoon no doubt. It's a bit frustrating because I do feel fine, but am aware that I can't / should't be doing certain things which is curtailing the gardening a bit, but hey ho - all good things come to those that wait ;-)

Going to make some bolognaise sauce in a bit so it can simmer in the slow cooker for a few hours and then not sure what I'll concoct with it.

Have a lovely day everyone xxx

Morning all, it was beautiful earlier on but has clouded over now and it looks a bit murky out to sea. The bathrooms need cleaning today but otherwise no plan, I did the ironing yesterday. I have a plan to completely overhaul all the files in my filing cabinet, getting rid of old stuff and putting in new folders, so I might get started on that if the sun doesn't reappear.

What I have on my hand is a ganglion and there is not a lot to be done especially as I have no desire to have surgery. Apparently they can go away of their own accord but that could take a while so basically I’ve to carry on doing what I’m doing i.e wearing a wrist support a lot of the time, which actually does help a bit. I can’t take or use topically any non steroidal anti inflammatory which limits me, but luckily it is not too painful. Back in the day, the usual “cure” was to hit it with a heavy book, usually a bible, but that is not recommended now ;)

Morning all :D

Sunny 8-)

We're popping over to Westwood Cross and the big Boots in the next hour or so. They are having a special over 60's day for reward card members so nice discounts and a free gift thrown in. I'm getting low on a few items so as good a time as any to stock up.

Hope you all have a good day xx
