Good morning Monday

Postby Ally » 16 Jun 2025, 05:55

Good morning.

We've had the most wonderful joyous two weeks with Craig here and non stop fun and laughter.
We really are truly blessed with our family. :cute:

Craig flew home last night but I've not got long until I see him again. :D

We're forecast 40° so after my Ely walk I'll be found in or around the pool.

I've got lots to catch up on iPlayer so will happily start that tonight. :)

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

We're also in for a 40C type of week, so will be spending the time either in the pool or inside.

Given myself a day off from gardening :D

Yes, the pool miraculously cleared itself yesterday  :Hi: Just need to get the few dead animals out of it, do a little more cleaning, then it will be ready :Hi:

Nelson should be up with t he new gauge sometime this week, but at least Grumpy is feeling a bit better, so he can sort out any issues. I hope.

Off to take La Diva for it's mot later. Taking it to a garage and they'll take it to Castro. We always let mechanics do this, for some reason, the cars always pass when they take it.  We took one car in, years ago, and it failed on just about everything  Gave the list to a mechanic friend, he took one look, screwed up the fail cert, took it in himself and it passed  :?

I'm then going back into Ourique, to meet a couple of friends for a coffee and natter. I'll pick up a cooked chicken for dinner.

Back to collect the car this afternoon and a pit stop - maybe - at the bar.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning All, JanB and anybody elsewho is up.

It is 19C this morning. It should get hotter as the sun is out. Am going to try and get some empty cardboard boxes. Want to send some things to my grand-daughter.
While she was here last week, saw some clothes and costume jewellery which ad ben my wifes. No room in her small bag. So I am sending them by one of the courer firms.

Will be doing some more weeding.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all, it’s a nice day here, the sunshine is a bit hazy but it is there. I’ve put bedding in the wash and will get it out on the line before I go to mobility class this morning. Edward has gone to play golf. I’ll probably do some ironing this afternoon.

We had a lovely day yesterday. Michael was here for a couple of hours in the afternoon, then his dad collected him for their evening out, I’m looking forward to hearing how he liked Chris Hadfield. The guy who wanted to buy the steel guitar turned up when he said, with his dad, they have a small dance band and work around the south east area. Of course we were able to chat about dancing and different bands. They were really nice, delighted with the good condition of the instrument and happy to buy it. Then Edward had an accordion that he had had for over 60 years, he never liked it, rarely played it and in recent years found it too heavy on his shoulders. So he asked them if they knew anyone who might like it and he was glad to just give it away for free if he felt it could be used. The father was delighted, said he knew of someone, and also knew someone who might be able to fix the one dodgy button, so they got two instruments for the price of one, and we were glad that the instruments could be used for many more years.

Then we went off to Miss Osc’s for our dinner, which was lovely, and she had a couple of little Father’s Day gifts for Edward. She was supposed to be packing (they are going away on Tuesday) but kept putting off the evil moment - we were having a wander and a chat in the garden as it was such a lovely evening,  the next thing she started pulling up weeds  We all watched the very exciting darts final after which we came home.

Morning all :)

Welcome back Al! :D Glad you all had such a good time :D xx

I hope Is Diva passes her MOT, Jan, and good news on the pool. :Hi: xx

You can buy empty boxes online, Cruiser :) xx

I would be interested to hear about Chris Hadfield too, Osc! I have followed him on Facebook ever since his stint in space :) xx

Another beautiful sunny day here :) Becky has a day off so we're off out with Em in a while - either Cheltenham or the Orbital shopping park in Swindon. It's not decided yet. Got some washing on, and B is clearing out her wardrobe and cupboards as she wants to buy new furniture and redecorate. It could do with it, to be honest, as her bedroom has been the same since we moved in 12 years ago.

Have a good day everyone :) xx
