Good Morning Friday

Postby JanB » 20 Dec 2024, 07:44

Morning everyone

Still dark and cold, but should warm up later.,

Up at a silly hour, as need to get the first train up to Lisbon, for Grumpy to see his surgeon.

Will have lunch up there somewhere and should be back at the bar by 4.30, so another long day.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Hello and good morning everyone

Jan, I thought Steve was going with Grumpy and you were going to take it easy at home? Hope all goes well with the appointment x
Cruiser, as always - enjoy Chorley and then the pootle afternoon
Saundra, best place to be - cuppa in bed is so comforting

it's a very nippy start to the day here, a light frost on the roof tops and lawns. Nadine's brother arrived from South Africa this morning - he'll be here for 10 days; need to make sure we've got plenty warm clothing for him :D . A bit of pootling for me this morning, then to Sainsbury's for the usual chicken veg and bits for myself, then to Karl and Nadine's and then out this evening.

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s raining and dreary here, Edward’s pal cancelled the golf quite early which is unusual for him. Edward was happy enough, he says he has plenty to keep him busy. I have mobility class this morning and have to hurry back afterwards as I have a hair appointment at 12.30. Before class I’ll go to a local boutique where I had ordered a pair of trousers, I have to try them on and if they look well, I’ll buy them. This evening we are going to the Christmas party of our usual Friday night social, so putting on glittery stuff and looking forward to the fun.

Morning all :)

Bright and sunny 8-)

Jan safe travels and good luck to Grumpy.
Cruiser we haven't had any cards from Australia yet, hope ours arrived okay.
Saundra a lie in is always nice.
Ria you're very welcome to come and do some pootling here
Osc enjoy the party, glittery stuff sounds fun.

We were up at silly o'clock ready to do the M&S trolley dash. It wasn't too bad this morning, but I'm sure it will be manic now. We've got a Tesco order coming later this afternoon and that's us done. Don't know what the girIs eat for brekkie, but if we need anything extra for Sunday morning Ed will pick it up from the local shop when he goes round for the papers.

Washing and a whizz round the house for me, didn't get it done yesterday

Hope you all have a good day xx Image

Morning all, just on the bus heading home from Stafford.

It’s so quiet! I went into M&S, no queue and I walked straight to the till to be served. Same in Aldi and Sainsbury’s, just one person in front of me in Home Bargains and the only place I queued was in Primark!

I’ve got the last few bits I needed anyway, just need some scratch cards for in Tom and Joe’s stockings. I also got food to make stir fry for tea. We’ve got both Jade and Tom eating with us, I knew Jade was but Tom was a surprise inclusion at 10pm last night so I needed a bit extra to stretch it out. I think Joe said something about him and Jade going out later.

Have a good day all :)

Well, the daft sod (Steve) has given up alcohol and cigarettes, so is over dosing on sweet stuff, had a massive sugar boost, fell and broke his collar bone.

Poor Darren has had a nightmare, changing tickets

Not good news. He has to have another op - booked for 23 January. An aggressive skin cancer, that has entered the nerve cells, so his face and shoulder are to be dug out.

I'll book transport on Monday and then he has to go back up in March, to have a chat to the surgeon and hopefully, he'll get everything out this time.

Train up and down was lovely, if a little stressful, as they give you just a couple of minutes to find your platform and Grumpy is not as fast as he used to be
