It's no steeper than the average draining board.

For a proper hill you have to go to Vale Street in Bristol ... now that's a climb worth getting out of breath about.

Done Park Street in Bristol a few times and we now have rather short sharp uphill from the gate

Is Steep Hill the one that runs up from the railway station to the Cathedral, saundra? If so, I've done that one!

I know the Malvern Hills entry, Old Wyche Road, but I've not walked it. As for Vale Street, Totterdown, I do know the area from driving through it and I can well believe the steepness of some of the roads there. Not a place I'd want to live .....

But in fairness to Crommers and myself, I'd like to point out that Vale Street (a) isn't cobbled and (b) as the photo shows, has steps!!

Anyway, can't stay gossiping with you lot, have to go now and get a performance-enhancing substance injected into my backside ....

Steep hill is a pig to walk down if you knees are in any way painful or unsteady. Up you can do slowly. Ossie, yes, you walk from Lincoln Central right up the high street and at the end you go into Steep hill which leads up to the Cathedral.

My main goals for going up there, today, are twofold. One is that there is an excellent wine shop there which #3 son has a good friend who is a part owner. The other is Brown's pie shop which is actually one really good restaurant.

Did my March Gold Hill Challenge today and shaved 5 seconds off the record, now 3 minutes 09 secs.

Slightly embarrassing being cheered on by a touring troop of cyclists outside the café at the top as I heaved up the last section (the steepest). They'd have been more blinkin' use if they'd offered me something out of Sir B. Wiggins' Jiffy Bag ....
