Too late now as you have booked elsewhere, but personally I love Filey - it's quiet but the beach is lovely, we love it anyway. Scarborough used to be the place to go but I feel it has run down in recent years, not like it used to be.
Everywhere in the UK depends on sunshine and good weather - we adore Northumberland but we had to abandon it this weekend thanks to the incessant rain
Wonderful Shell, I'm sure you'll love Scotland. I know you don't like busy places but would you give Edinburgh a chance as you won't be that far away? It's a beautiful place to see and so interesting too.
I have cousins in Perth and I'm told that there's a lot of beautiful countryside in that area too, and again it's not far from you.
Hi Jo, we went to Edinburgh for the day when we stayed in Alnwick we went by train. I did like the history of the city but I found it a bit dark and depressing with a lot of homeless people about, and the odd dodgy deal going on in doorways which I hate to see. People wandering up to the homeless chap, handing over some money and walking away with a wrap of something, it just felt a bit seedy. The other place that was very like that was Bath
The countryside around the area looks beautiful I am looking forward to it
