£50 a tyre. I wish. I use blackcircles.com and I can't get them for under £130 a piece. I lost 3 to potholes in a 6 month period with very little wear on them. Aggrieved I was.

Good tyres are a must though.

Three things I will not skimp on with cars:

Tyres
Brakes
Wiper blades

Servicing is always done before the due time/mileage, but if it goes a bit over it's no big deal. When it goes for a shampoo and valet I always opt for the underside to be done as well, usually after the winter, to wash away the road salt.

It might appear expensive, but it is cheaper than a bump repair, a write-off, or worse.

Yes, we replaced all four on one of the cars last Summer, cost us £660 for them
