morning all wide awake and its only 5.30 its going to be a long day supermarket later then watch the weeds grow in the garden plus expected rain have a good day everyone hope the sun shines on some of you
I'm up early as L is off to a friends house in about an hour. There is a steampunk fair taking place at the Pavilion (big pink building in village where Mick experienced his ghost)and one of the dads (who is also my vice chair of Governors) has a shop selling Viking and Steampunk clothing (you often see him wandering around in his armour - very often accompanied by a Jack Sparrow lookalike - sadly only in dress rather than Johnny Depp looks) and is having a stall there today.
So she will be dressing up in Victorian like costume and wandering around giving out leaflets with his daughter.
There will be lots of people wandering around looking like this
and this
Just another normal day in Matlock Bath then!
S is off for a sleepover tonight - some mad woman is letting her daughter have 5 friends sleepover.
I will be going to the allotment at some point today and continuing to read my adoption papers.
This evening we are probably going to a friends house. He has a projector set up onto a neighbours blank side wall and we watch Glastonbury on it (the neighbour does know about it). We can't see it until it is dark but we can listen and drink and eat and generally be jolly all evening. I haven't decided yet if I am going though as my hayfever was awful yesterday.
Well after my slow start this morning... got to get into the garden this afternoon. It was a stunning day here. Wall to wall blue. Got some weeds sprayed in the garden, (hope I didn't hit too many plants I would like to keep, but the gardens are getting away from me so I had to do a fast fix) then I mowed the lawns. Sasha went over to visit our neighbour and Oliver was "Helping" daddy with the carpentry for the toilet, replacing rotten wood from the roof leak. Did a bit of weeding in the vege garden and sprayed my peach and nectarine trees. I'm getting in early this year, I was caught out last year when they hit bud burst a month early.
They should set a TV series in Matlock Bath Debih - never a dull moment where you live.
Weka your day sounds like my ideal day - tootling about in the garden and getting lots done - bliss
I'm up earlier than I'd normally be on a weekend... my SIL is collecting me in one hour and we're going to inspect some tattoo places; she wants one of a gecko on her foot and I'm tempted to get one myself but not totally sure yet. Then off to a camping shop to look at tents; just to get an idea of size and what's out there, pop into a garden centre and maybe some cat food shopping but that's about it for me.
They do look fantastic when they are all dressed up in their stuff. I love it.
Last time they were here (they come about once every two months and have a big fair - the stall selling type - in the Pav and then in the evening there is usually a band on) I crossed over the road at the crossings next to a man looking like he had stepped out of Zulu with the red soldiers uniform on.
Meri - I think you should go for MAM and DAD on your knuckles. That's a good look. Seriously though - what design do you fancy having? I always think a tattoo needs to mean something rather than just be a nice picture.
Morning everyone - it's a nice bright day here. Mick is working until lunchtime so I'd better get on with house-y stuff as it's been so neglected all week We'll probably still go out later though - we're having a BBQ tomorrow unless it tips down and my MIL is coming round, so I need some burgers, chops etc for it
Saundra have a good day I need to sort our weeds out too
Debih your place is like The Archers on acid It all sounds great fun, hope your hayfever subsides enough for you to go xxxx
Ria you are brave, I have often thought of having a tiny flower or something discreet in a discreet place but have always chickened out - knowing me I'd have a reaction to the ink or something Just don't have LOVE and HATE on your knuckles - Mick's grandad did then lost a finger and had LOVE and HAT for the rest of his life
Morning all Quite bright here at the moment. My hayfever is terrible this year--using a nasal spray and antihistamine tablets but it is no better Daughter and SIL are off on their travels again (they do love their exotic holidays) This time it is Oman for a week of sunshine. The long flight would put me off but they enjoy it so good luck to them and safe journey
Morning all Nice here, quite bright. The forecast said everyone should have good weather today and tomorrow so barbies will be smoking all over the place Weka yur lie-in did you good Blimey Lissie that will be hot! Sue wedding dresses will be fun Debih it all sounds as mad as usual Ria don't get talked into it, make sure you really want one and arrange for it to be done another time Lol @Micks' granddad
Not sure what we're doing today except this afternoon is the annual fete thing at the hospice which is just down the road, it's always good so we'll walk down there. And maybe a barbie tonight Hope everyone has good weather and a nice day Di x
Morning chums, looks like a nice day here Hubby is off to Geneva tomorrow for 2 weeks, so I'm busy washing, ironing and packing. We went dancing last night and might go again tonight, it depends on our energy levels! Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing
