Good morning Sunday

Postby Ally » 04 May 2025, 05:21

Good morning.

Sunny and forecast 27°. 8-)

A little walk first. :)

It's Mother's Day here and the twins are coming over mid morning. I've been told I'm going to like their present.

A day reading by the pool after they've gone. I might dangle my legs in as it'll soon be swimming season again. :cute:

TV tonight. We're going to watch tonight's This City Is Ours and then immediately after watch next week's final episode on iPlayer as I might combust otherwise.

Don's making piri piri chicken for dinner and I have an apple pie yogurt for dessert.

Have a great day.

May the fourth be with you.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Another grey and cool morning, with more wet stuff

Today I'm going to do what I should have done yesterday, but couldn't be bothered  Grumpy is going to vacuum the pool, as it looks rather murky. All the dust on the bottom, hopefully.

Down to David and Rita's for dinner. They're going back to Canada soon. I'll take a plant and some wine down.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Ally & JanB.

It was 17C when I got up. The sun is out witha few white wispy clouds.

Will be putting some washing on, and doing some ironing. Will water the plants as there has been no rain for more than a week.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all, it’s brightening up now but much cooler. We’re forecast a high of 12°.

George had an early walk and we were back in time to see John leave for his bike ride. He used to go out on the Chase every Sunday morning with a group but things changed and people moved away but there’s one fella, Mick, who lives in Telford and still comes over to ride on the Chase every now and again so he’s meeting up with him. Mick is 73 and still mountain biking!

Joe’s currently running the Birmingham 10k. He’s got the Oxford half marathon later this year, he’s also entered the ballot for next year’s London Marathon but has booked a place in the Manchester one because London is so hard to get into. They’re both around the same time so he’s got his training plan already worked out.

Tom’s coming over later, Joe will be back with Jade this afternoon and we’re having a Chinese takeaway this evening. A joint birthday meal midway between John’s and Joe’s birthdays. Normally we would’ve gone out but can’t yet leave George for too long.

Have a good day all :D

Morning all, it was beautiful earlier but is now cloudy and cold. Absolutely no plan for the day, my main task on a Sunday is putting the towels in to wash, then taking them out and putting them in the dryer, not very taxing! I really should try and get back to doing my jigsaw so I might do that. Oh, I’ve just seen the cat across the road walking up the roof, wonder how it got up there :o

Ally we are also watching This City is Ours, but find we don’t care about any of the characters, they can all shoot each other for all we care! The only one I have a modicum of sympathy for is the wife of Davy who was shot in Spain (played by one of the actresses from Derry Girls). No doubt Edward, and I to a certain extent, will be watching the snooker.

Good job we all like different things Osc!

I'd stick pins in my eyes rather than watch snooker.

My Mother's Day gift is fabulous and will be in full use from tomorrow. :Hi:

Good morning.
We've just had a Spitfire fly over. It was in D-Day markings. It had taken off from Leeds (we use the Flightradar app) and was heading for Featherstone / Pontefract).
Grey and cold here, a considerable change for the worse.
Cruiser, we've had no proper rain for ages.
Apple pie yoghurt sounds good to me.
Is George enjoying his walks Jo?
Osc, our old cat Kipper used to do that! He was next to me in the office ustairs one day and the next minute he had vanished. Our neighbour spotted him relaxing on top of the roof! He'd jumped out of the window onto the sloping roof and made himself comfortable.
Chicken for dinner, a lazy Sunday ahead. Watching the football is as energetic as it gets.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all :D

Definitely cooler, showers forecast.

I managed to get four of Ed's shirts ironed yesterday, my absolute limit in one session!! Just 3 more to go today and then I can forget about them for as long as possible  We're having a lazy day, roast chicken with salad for dinner, raspberry blancmange with blackcurrant jelly for pud.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Crommers, he’s loving them! In fact we had a bit of a stand off this morning when I brought him back through the gate onto the estate. He dug his paws in and wanted to go further  There’s advice though that pups should only be walked for 5 minutes per month of life, twice daily, until matured because of their joints still developing and strengthening so I’m being wary of how far we walk.
