Clear skies and 20 °C in Leeds, Vic, but we are set for something similar overnight or tomorrow.

As mum would say during thunderstorms "Keep a window open". I have no idea why. :?:

I love a good thunderstorm but they seem to be quite rare here, probably something to do with the topology of the area.

Your Mum's advice flies in the face of British Red Cross recommendations, WM. And don't go out in your golf buggy ... :P

At home/in a building
Stay inside until the storm has passed.
Shut all windows, close doors, and keep away from windows.

Vic, noticeably it's been a bad year for weeds here, in the sense we've had far fewer than usual.

Love a good thunderstorm, but sadly noting here for a few months yet.

Been a few months since we've had rain, would be lovely just sit outside and get wet

I have actually done that, when we've had about five months of no rain - yes, I know I'm bonkers, but it was heaven 8-)

Ossie, I didn't say mum was right, but she believed it let the lightning out if it struck. An "old wives tale" I guess.

I still do it! ;)

We were forecast rain for much of the day but instead it’s been beautiful. We were supposed to have storms one day last week and all we got was one clap of thunder which was a massive let down. I love a good storm.

When my Nan was alive one of us would always rush around during a storm, she was terrified.

We had a yellow weather warning all day yesterday for thunderstorms. We had quite heavy rain around midday, but that's it - not a single rumble or grumble from the skies. But made me realise I need to get the ladder out and clean the gutter; it was overflowing yesterday :-D

We had a huge storm here yesterday afternoon, and thankfully plenty of rain. :Hi:
