Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 22 Jul 2025, 05:45

Good morning.

Another lovely day. :D

Going for a nice long walk. :D

Back to paint my nails and get ready for my travels to Scotland tomorrow. :cute:

Craig's off to a site meeting in Leicester for the day so I'm cooking dinner.
I'll buy a chicken to roast and we'll have mash, veg and pepper sauce. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Lovely breeze this morning, so feeling quite cool. At the moment

Ironing to be done and then I will have to think of something to do. Done the watering, been chatting with a friend this morning, hopefully, they'll be back here soon.

Apart from that, not a lot. No idea what's for dinner, will see what the freezer has.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Ally, JanB and anybody else who is up.
It is 19C with grey clouds. We have had rain as there are lots of puddles.

Going to Lidl this morning. Then i am goingto slect a carpet for my bedroom. The existing one is about 40yars old and there are signs of wear and i now don't like the pattern.
I am going to have a plain fawn one. It means having an electric socket moved. The electrician is coming on Thursday morning.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all, mixed weather here but it is not raining at the moment. Edward has gone to play golf and I have a few different things in my mind to do - cleaning the bathrooms, also perhaps cleaning out the car. I’m really bad at keeping the car clean. At the moment it’s parked outside the house across the road - we have no off street parking but some of the houses across the street do. The man in that house died a few weeks back so I asked his family if I could park there while things get sorted - yes, very convenient for me but also makes the house look less empty. It’s a good opportunity for me to give the car a proper clean out. I also need to get Edward’s prescription.

Hello you three and everyone, good morning.

Ally, roast chicken is probably one of my most favourite meals; yum!
Jan, what about teaching yourself to paint? You've got some stunning views where you are and if nothing else, it would be fun
Cruiser, new carpet sounds nice, and I think going a 'plain' fawn colour is a good idea - tends to go with everything.
Osc, my car usually is a mess with stuff from / for the allotment, shopping bags etc. I gave it a good clear out before my niece arrived and took it to the car washwash and so far it's been fine. But agree re parking in the house - we did the same when Karl and Nadine's elderly neighbour passed. I used his drive to park whenever I visited because it did make it look like the house had activity (to strangers at least).

Well another relax day for me. I was planning on working from home this week and next, but work wasn't happy and insisted I take time off. I've got a GP phone appointment this afternoon to confirm if they're happy for me to work from home or not, and if I get the all clear then it'll be back to normal tomorrow. Usually I wouldn't mind having time off, but because I can't really do much besides sitting around I'm getting bored. Yesterday I sorted through the clothes in the chest of drawers in my bedroom and have a pile to take to the charity shop for the rag man. Today I'll tidy the main wardrobe; it was sorted not that long ago, but things are in a jumble and just need putting in the right place again. And my second mission for today is to find some books on kindle that aren't written in the first person; it seems the latest trend is that every author writes what I call "I" books and I really dislike them - a lot!

Online shopping for groceries, as well, but that's about it.

Have a lovely day everyone

xx

Morning all :D

Nice and bright with a gentle breeze, but rain's forecast for later this afternoon.

We need to make a trip to our small Tesco in the next hour or so, yesterday's delivery was spot on, but we need some fresh bits, bananas and salad, I prefer to pick those items myself. Making a chicken curry this evening, we'll have it with cauli cheese, rice doesn't agree with me since the diabetes.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Morning all, it dull and so very humid here.

Bit of a change this morning, we had someone here to view the house so me and George went out as soon as the estate agent arrived just before 9. He gets a tad excitable around visitors so it’s best that he goes out
John had already walked him before he went to work, while I hoovered through, because that was his normal walk time and he was bouncing around in anticipation so he’s had a bonus one today, and we didn’t have to get back as the estate agent locked up and put the keys through the letterbox (which was good as he picked the route and we were out for 1hr20). I’m pretty sure the feedback we’ll get on the house is that there’s no bath, we had it taken out of the family bathroom in favour of a walk in shower, they had two young children with them and if you’ve got children you usually want a proper tub in place rather than a shower.

I think I’m going to relax for the rest of the day, yesterday was spent getting the house to show home standards  Just need to find everything that’s been shoved out of the way into cupboards and drawers now

Hope you manage to find something good to read Ria :)

Have a good day all :)

Afternoon everyone :)

Safe trip tomorrow Ally :) xx

Hope you found something to do Jan xx

We have plain dark fawn carpeting upstairs, Cruiser - nice and neutral xx

That sounds sensible Osc xx

Ria, I heartily recommend Still Life by Sarah Winman - a beautiful story, and written in the third person ;) xx

Oh I love cauli cheese, Jen :) xx

Ah, that's probably correct about the bath, Jo, but fingers crossed XX

I had a hair appointment at 9. I had thought it was 9.30 but on getting out of the shower at just after 8.30 something prompted me to recheck, and then it was a mad scramble! Got there right on time, luckily  Shereen is always busy so I wouldn't have wanted to be late
Mick and I went to Portivo for breakfast after that, then round to D's. Got some washing in the dryer now as it's teeming down! :Hi: Much needed!

Love to all xxx

Good afternoon peeps.
The clouds have rolled away and the sun is out.
Jo, we had our bath taken out too.
I hope that you are coming along well Ria.
Just back from a quick trip to Ponte. MrsC was a bit late back to the car so I had to go and have half a Guinness whilst I was waiting.
Have a lovely day everyone.

We had our bath taken out too Jo. If we ever have to sell it will probably be an older couple downsizing like we did so it shouldn't matter too much and tbh it suits us best.
