Good Morning Saturday

Postby JanB » 14 Jun 2025, 07:22

Morning everyone

Sunny, but with a chilly wind, warming up nicely later.

I've done the watering, later on I'll vac and mop the floors, then make another load of samosas.

This afternoon, once the car is loaded up with the recycling, we'll head down to the bar, Not been for a week, so plenty to catch up on.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning you two and everyone

Jan, I need to water as well, and the floors in the house are in dire need of a mop so may just copy you (but no promises  ). Enjoy the catch up at the bar later today.
Cruiser, what a pity the balloon flight was cancelled, but rather safe than sorry. Edinburgh Christmas market sounds like fun though.

Well we were told to expect lots of rain and thunderstorms last night, alas and unsurprisingly, not much happened. Some rain yesterday evening but nothing during the night and definitely no thunder. So I need to water today. A friend is picking me up at 9am and we're going to Wisley for a walk and a natter; it's still quite overcast and the wind has a bit of a chill to it; but hopefully it'll clear a bit by 9.

Have a lovely day everyone x

Morning all, it’s sunny and none of the rain forecast for yesterday materialised, it just stayed horribly muggy. We’re apparantly forecast rain later this morning.

Joe’s on his way to Manchester Airport for his flight to Dublin, no idea why they didn’t book one of the many flights to there from Birmingham but I’m guessing that it was a few pounds cheaper - but not cheap for the person (Harriet, his friend’s girlfriend) who is driving them there and picking them up. Tom does that too. He’ll book a cheap flight from as far away as Gatwick or Stansted and then ask for a lift
If they fly from Birmingham they can get a train from here straight to the airport.

Plans for today are a walk with George once John gets back from Parkrun and then I’m clearing out my wardrobe this afternoon. Hopefully another walk this evening and then some TV.

What a shame about the cancellation Cruiser!

Have a good day all :D

Morning all, no need to be watering garden here, it’s been raining for some hours and due to continue all day  Edward still has a heavy head cold although his throat is feeling ok, so he’s feeling pretty miserable. However, there will be darts and golf on tv to keep him occupied. We are currently watching the Trooping the Colour and it looks like a nice day in London. No plan for the day except getting my nails done this afternoon. I might change the bed. I will put on a wash but it will have to dry indoors. My brother phoned earlier, we had a nice chat.

Morning all :D

Sunny and hot 8-)

We had a huge storm late evening, lots of lightening and thunder, it was still going when we went to bed around 12.30am. I bet it was spectacular to watch down near the seafront. No sign of any damage here so we set off as usual for our weekly M&S trolley dash. Just as well we were a bit later this week, arrived just before 8.30am to find Westwood Cross awash, all the shops were full of water and shut. We walked along and I'm pretty sure some of them will stay that way all day. Boots has a lot of floor standing cardboard displays so you can imagine what a mess it's in. M&S managed to block the main store departments off so they could concentrate on the food hall. Felt really sorry for the poor lady standing by the entrance letting everyone know what was happening, some people can be so rude. She said they hoped to open by 9am so we decided to wait.

We finally got in at 9.10am, the staff were still rushing around trying to keep everyone safe. Of course some of the fridges weren't working, but we managed to get most things we went for. Not sure how it will go through the day though, all the fridges out the back were down and they'd had to send all their deliveries away.

Well that's enough excitement for today. Back to change the bed and finish the washing we didn't get done yesterday.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all :)

Samosas Jan? Yummy :) xx

Glad you both had such a nice time Cruiser :) xx

Enjoy Wisley Ria, that sounds lovely 8-) xx

That's funny Jo, and sounds about right   xx

Hope Ed feels better soon Osc, summer colds just seem more miserable somehow :? xx

Crikey, Jen, what a mess that must have made! Glad you were able to get in eventually - I don't envy the staff the clean-up :? :( xx

I heard from Ally, she's having a busy family time with Craig being over, and will be back soon :)

It lovely warm and sunny day here, if a little windy! We were going to Hereford today, to friends, but they have illness in the family so we're rescheduled. Instead we took ourselves up to Knead near Cirencester for breakfast, it's so pretty up there on the edge of the Cotswolds, then went to D's. Greek salad with cold chicken for dinner later.

Love to all :) xx
